On November 18th and 19th, Idonial will host the meeting of the European consortium OCEAN at its facilities in Gijón. OCEAN is a project co-financed by the European Union's Erasmus+ program.

This meeting will bring together the project partners to continue the work begun at previous meetings held in France and Germany, where the methodological and technical foundations were laid for the development of a European digital platform for validating non-formal and informal learning (NFIL) in the field of advanced manufacturing.

The OCEAN project aims to create a harmonized and digitized process that allows for the official recognition of professional skills acquired through work experience or non-formal training, facilitating their certification in different European countries. This approach promotes greater mobility and employability for professionals in the sector, while also boosting transparency and comparability of qualifications across Europe.

OCEAN relies on a suite of digital tools that guarantee the quality, consistency, and reliability of the validation process, all designed in accordance with European standards for training and professional qualifications.

The project is led by the French organization AFPMA Formation and includes the participation of Idonial (Spain), the European Federation for Welding, Joining and Cutting (EWF, Belgium), LZH Laser Akademie (Germany), and Dafni KEK (Greece).

Through its participation, Idonial actively contributes to the creation of a common European framework for the assessment and recognition of skills in technologies such as additive manufacturing, welding, and other advanced industrial processes.

In this way, the Center reaffirms its commitment to qualification and professional development in advanced manufacturing, a key area for the implementation of new technologies in industry, the promotion of specialized talent, and the competitiveness of the European production sector.
